Pepper Spray (small - 0.4 oz minimum)

Bike Section Team:
2 Spare front lights + method of attachment to all bike or helmets.
2 Spare tail lights + method of attachment to all bikes or helmets.
(The spare lights must be available for use by any of the team and must be able to be affixed to bike or rider such that they operate correctly in place of a broken light)
Tire pump

Boat section (per person)
***Gold Rush Adventures will be suppling tandem kayaks for all teams. Boats will be dropped off and picked up at the paddling section making this VERY convenient for all teams especially out of state and international teams. Basic paddles and pfds are available but teams may bring their own PFD's and paddles.***
PFD (Lifejacket)
Whistle, attached to PFD.
Flashing light attached to PFD.
Headlight (waterproof).

Boat section (per team)
One or more pack rafts or similar craft capable of carrying all team members.
Capable of lake paddling for several miles. Capable of being carried for several miles.

Climbing Section (per person)
Helmet. Approved climbing helmet.
Harness.
3 locking carabiners. (auto or screw lock)
3 tethers.
Rappell device. (ATC or figure 8)
Prussic
Jumars - one pair with correct length tethers and foot loops.
Gloves
(Note: A total of at least 3 tethers is required. If you re-rig between ascents and descents, 3 tethers will work, If you prefer not to have to re-rig between ascents and descents then you will need at least 4 tethers and possibly 5. )

Teams will also need:
One mountain bike per person.
One mountain bike box per person.
2 storage boxes per team.
(Max dimensions 44" x 21" x 17" e.g. Rubermaid 48 U.S. gallon).
1 bag large enough to contain team paddling equipment (pfd's, paddles, pack raft, paddling specific clothing)..
Prohibited Equipment.
Phone, excepting the phone sealed by Gold Rush.
Communication devices excepting the radio sealed by Gold Rush.
Maps other than those provided by Gold Rush. Including use of such maps at ACP’s . Crews may have road maps available but teams may not refer to them.
Sails or Kites during the paddling sections.
GPS devices including wrist styles. Trackstick or similar devices that cannot be read in the field are OK.
Minimum Medical kit:
- sunscreen.
- lip balm with sun protection. SPF 15 minimum.
- Electrolyte replacement tabs ( at least 4 per team member each day)
Analgesic tablets (at least 2 per team member per day) - Antihistamine tablets (2 per team member)
- Sterile 3' x 3" or 4" x 4" dressing (4 minimum)
- Blister dressing (enough to supply 2 teammates each day, explain how you plan to use it)
- Needle
- Tweezers
- Scissors or blade

Note: Make sure your brakes are in top condition prior to the start of the race.
Recommended:
Gloves for protection against brush. (bring a spare pair for your gear box a steh rock can be very abrasive)
Long pants for protection against brush.
Warm clothes - in case of bad weather. Temperatures in places on the course could reach freezing
Hiking poles,
Water purification tablets or filter system.
Paddling clothing for paddling section. Dry top.
'Tecnu Extreme' for poison oak.

During our orienteering events, we usually require very little equipment. Suggested gear is as follows:

Layered clothing.
Sturdy footwear. Trail shoes rather than road running shoes are suggested.
