Gold Rush Night Orienteering
The Night 'O' is always a fun event. Look for it in 2012, some Friday in late spring.
Night Orienteering held at Red Hills near Chinese Camp. Join us to have fun or improve your orienteering skills. Start at 8 pm in the evening, and we will plan to finish the event by 11pm and move on to the fun of a barbecue and social. Free primitive camping available. No running water.
$10 per person for maps and barbecue fixings and sodas. Along with your headlamp, compass and hiking/running gear bring your own entree and other drinks. Let us know you are coming by submitting the form at registration.
Directions to Red Hills... Take Hwy 120 about 20 miles East from Oakdale toward Sonora. 10 miles out of Oakdlae you will pass Knights Ferry and continue about 10 miles (1/2 mile past where the divided road ends) and take a right on La Grange road. Go 1 and 1/2 miles and turn left on Red Hills Road. Go 1/2 mile and find the parking area/trailhead on the right.
