The 2012 Gold Rush Mother Lode is a five day unsupported Expedition Race running from August 7th to 11th 2012.
Team Tecnu Extreme won the 2011 Gold Rush Mother Lode. The 4 day Expedition Race, part of the Adventure Racing World Series, and presented by Hi-Tec, Princeton Tec and Tecnu Extreme took teams from Bridgeport to Columbia for 280 miles across the Sierra Nevada mountains. Fast packing/trekking, mountain biking, navigating, paddling and a 600 foot rapell. Tecnu Extreme was followed by GearJunkies/Yoga Slackers, Dart-nuun and Perdidos.

Adventure Racing World Series
Gold Rush Mother Lode is excited to join Raid the North Extreme as one of only two North American qualifiers for the Adventure Racing World Series, and the ONLY qualifier on American soil for 2011. Teams competied for a paid entry to the AR World Championships to be held in Tasmania in November and Team Tecnu Extreme will be heading to Australia to race.
**This race is part of the Checkpoint Tracker series and with 200 points awarded has plasyed a large part in deciding the series Champion.

To level the paddling field, and to make sure that no one has a distinct advantage in watercraft, we as race management have decided to provide all watercraft of similiar tandem kayaks so that all teams will have the same advantage in the water. Use of outside boats will NOT be permitted. We will have boats at the relavant ACPS's. This makes it much easier for most teams, especially those international or out of state teams, for whom transporting or renting boats is a huge problem. We are charging a $100- fee for the tandem kayaks to be paid at the pre-race meeting, so please come prepared with a cashiers check, money order, or cash for the $100- payment for boat rental. **Registration for this 4-day, non-stop race includes opening and closing ceremonies, pre- and post-race meals, including a post-race party. Of course, a quality race t-shirt, lots of swag and prizes and more will await all racers and volunteers.
